Description
Offered is the 2nd American autographed edition of Dennis Gordon's "Lafayette Escadrille Pilot Biographies" History. Included with the book at no additional charge is Gordon's Companion DVD on the Lafayette Escadrille. These groundbreaking acclaimed works contain previously unknown information on the pilots and the famous all-American squadron that can't be found in any other source. Subsequent works by other authors on the squadron have mined Gordon's works for information. All recently published works on the Squadron and its pilots, when combined, do not contain as much detail as is found in Gordon's works.Gordon's book contains the complete biographies of the 38 American volunteer pilots and the five French officers of the squadron up until their deaths. Listed below are the names of the pilots who are covered in Gordon's book. Also included in the book are chapters on pilot training, allied and enemy aircraft, the front, the patrol,squadron locations, the squadron's lion mascots, etc.
The softbound book measures 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches in size and contains 271 pages of text, photos, index, sources. The Book is in new condition and has never been read.
The DVD is titled "The Lafayette Escadrille, Flying and Fighting For France April, 1916-December 1917." The DVD has a running time of 112 minutes. It covers the complete history of the world famous squadron as told through the use of rare archival footage and photographs. The DVD is in new condition.
