Starter - Cletrac HG, Oliver OC-3, General, Avery A, MM BF - Hercules IXK IXB

Description

12v. Starter for all Cletrac HG's, Oliver-Cletrac HG's, Oliver HG's, plus all Oliver OC-3, and early 4 cylinder OC-4 Crawlers, Loaders, Dozers.
Gear reduction perfectly replaces the original 6v. Autolite and Delco-Remy Starters that are now obsolete
and increasingly difficult and expensive to find and rebuild.
Faceplate has two bolts but is a perfect fit.
Note:
I've tested this unit out for three years on an OC-3 — no issues
(see photos of my used test unit illustrating wiring and bolt holes).
Note Sept. 20th 2019. For a short time, due to a clerical error, some units were shipped with the attachment plate in the incorrect orientation.
Simply, remove the four bolts, turn the plate one bolt to match photos 4-7, re-locate the bolts and tighten. My sincere apologies for the inconvenience, if this affected you.
Important Note:
Your battery needs to wired Negative to Ground. Most older 6 volt systems are positive ground.
Wiring:
On factory starter-equipped Cletrac to Oliver HGs and Oliver OC-3s, the engine is started by pressing a push button mounted in a rectangular box,
which is in turn mounted to, or close to, the battery tray.
Run a cable from the positive terminal of your 12v. battery to the starter box. Then another 12v. cable from the free terminal of the button box to the copper stud of this 12v. starter.
Lastly, run the short blue or red wire (supplied) from the special connector to the copper stud, as illustrated in the photos.
Note:
This starter can also be used on any machine with the same Hercules IXA-3, IXK-3 and IXB-3 engines:
for example, Cletrac 'GG' General, Minneapolis Moline 'BF', Avery 'Model A', Wards 'Twin Row', Silver King etc.

I use USPS because I've found it is consistently the cheapest up to about 30lbs, and flat-rate whenever possible.
From 30—70lbs FedEx Ground is the cheapest to a residence. If you have or can use a business address, I can use FedEx Ground up to 150lbs!
For shipments over 150lbs, I use various freight carriers — all out of Syracuse, NY 13211. Ask me for a quote.
