    *** ANTIQUE JAPANESE NOH MASK ***
    Early 19th C. - Depicting Kumasaka
    H: 7.87" x L: 6.5: x D: 2.5"
    A Japanese carved and lacquered himoki wood (cypress)
    mask for the Noh theatre depicting Kumasaka with
    typical protruding eyes and biting his lower lip.
    It is a nice, "honest" mask with legitimate and acceptable
    wear and tear.
    There is a tag on the back left from its purchase
    but the character depicted
    is not Rojo and the period
    is probably later - early 19th.
