SEAT BELT AUCTIONS
: Cadillac seat belts were basically the same length as other GM divisions, but they were far superior. Cadillac belts were color coordinated to the interiors (not boring black like many GM models!) and they did not use plastic covered buckle ends (that cracked and scuffed). Instead they still had the 1960's style chrome & brushed metal look. The logo was "GM" so these can be used to enhance the interior of any Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile or Pontiac as well.

THIS AUCTION:
FRONT Seat Belt set for GM full size cars 1971-76.
There are
a total of 6 pieces (3 sets) that you will receive. Two retractors (with male ends), 1 male (manual adjust) strap, and 3 female buckle straps.
PRODUCTION DATE:
January of 1976 (Used in a 1976 Cadillac)
COLOR:
BUCKSKIN TAN
CONDITION:
Let's admit it...Cadillac in the 1970's was still on a roll, and their interiors were brilliantly planned. Exquisite colors dominated, and the warm
BUCKSKIN TAN
seat belts listed here are surely among the better colors of the era.
This stellar set was recently removed from a 1976 Fleetwood. The belts are exceptionally clean, have very shiny chrome, and the BUCKSKIN TAN coloring shows no fade. The belt material is soft, flexible, and free of unsightly stains / worn areas / excessive fraying that many belts have.
The latches function perfectly and are beautiful.
The chrome ends to the belts are shiny and free of those nasty bubbly/crater pits. Sorry to say, both retractor housings are not included, since they were damaged by the previous owner trying to pry them off. ( SMH!).  The
Seat Belt retractors work excellent.
Considering this set is 44 years old (
Made in January of 1976
) I really can't find much to fault. Overall I rate them a 9.0-9.5 range on a 10 scale. That's right around the "Excellent/ near Show Grade".
You would be hard pressed to find any much nicer. Premium parts!
Set your expectations reasonably for USED (but unusually clean!) parts of this age
.

SEAT BELT HISTORY AND USABILITY INFORMATION:
GM/Cadillac seat belts changed a lot with the US safety requirement of the late 1960's & early 1970's. They went from being optional manual-adjust lap belts (early 1960's) to having automatic-sizing retractors (later 1960's) to having manual shoulder strap belts (Early 1970's hardtops -- automatic adjustable ones soon followed in 1974). Quite an evolution in a short period of time. Please make sure you read my auction to determine the usability of the belts for your particular car.
Generally speaking, the Cadillac belts that I sell will (likely) fit all large GM cars made from 1971-76, and quite likely 1968-1970 and 1977-79. This is based on the typical lengths of the belts and the locations for the bolting. Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick and Oldsmobile models are listed in the compatibility section. Many cars during the 1960's did not have full seat belts, or they were not retractor style. Since the belt latches show the GM logo, this set would nicely allow you to convert your 1960's car and still retain that "GM logo" look of the era. 1970's Cadillac seat belts no longer had the Cadillac crest logo (it was changed to "GM"), so it won't be at odds with the brand of your car. These feature highly polished latches, as opposed to plastic-covered ends used in the other 1970's GM brands. The Cadillac colors sometimes are common to most other GM brands, though the Interior Color Names given by each division will vary. Cadillac seat belts are high quality, no doubt~!
It's up to YOU to verify the usability in your car PRIOR to purchasing.
Plenty of pics for you to compare to your current belts. NOTE: I have no clue if these can work in mid-sized cars or muscle cars of that era (typically 4 or 5 passenger seating, not 6 like the Cadillacs had). There is plenty of belt strap length to fit any car. Each are held in by a single bolt (center sets use one bolt to hold down 2 straps - the bases interlock).
1970's Models:
1971-76 Chevrolet Models: BelAir, Biscayne, Impala, Caprice, Station Wagon(?).
1971-76 Cadillac Models: Calais, Coupe Sedan DeVille, Fleetwood, Brougham, Eldorado (1971-78).
1971-76 Buick Models: Centurion, LeSabre, Electra 225, Riviera, Estate Wagon(?).
1971-76 Oldsmobile Models: Delta 88, 98, Toronado, Station Wagon(?).
1971-76 Pontiac Models: Catalina, Bonneville, Grandville, Station Wagon(?).
This set is ideal for 1971-76 GM CONVERTIBLES~!
NOTE1
: If you plan to use these on Pre-1971 GM cars - The rear seat retractors (in the nice shrouded housings) may not have space to fit into your rear floor pan while clearing the seat frames. Early retractors were either manual adjust (no case) or "caseless" (smaller retraction unit with no housing, very unreliable).
NOTE2
: The floor mount for the front retractors evolved as well.  While all of them (1960's-1979) used a single bolt to hold them to the floor, the PRE-1973 ones had a small post that went into the floorpan, to prevent the retractor housing from turning if the bolt were a bit loose. They eliminated that in 1973 in favor of two nubs / protrusions that fit the grooves of the floorpan. Minor difference. You may need to grind off the small post on earlier belts. Tighten the bolt well and they won't turn sideways.
