    Description

    Straight from our brass
    (and silver) instrument
repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in
    good playable
condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale.
We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions asked.
    #1/2018
Up for sale is a silver 1920 The Martin Model Professional Tenor Trombone-Elkhart Ind. The serial number is #242xx and is in great condition for the age of the instrument; the bell is satin silver plate and has pretty engraving detail and a gold-wash on the inner bell. There is very little wear-through of the silver finish...
There is a former repair on the bell brace connection that was left alone to keep the silver intact(see pic).
Even with the less than perfect repair, the horn is a great example of beautiful vintage condition. There are various dings throughout the bell section with several small ping
s on the slide crook.  There is light scratching throughout, but still has a nice appearance. The horn has a friction-fit of the bell to slide connection, but there is a slide lock.  The slide action of this vintage instrument is playable, but has a residual 'graininess'.  The slide has been cleaned and honed.  There is a mid slow spot, but has good compression.  The
instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish)
. The slide bore is .468 and the bell flare is 8". The slide is not perfect, but the horn plays nicely with a mellow, soft tone  if needed and can also get powerful!  It is a good, all around tenor jazz player.  It comes with a mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured) and will be shipped in a used case.  Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
